Glass House is moving forward with a small hemp flower experiment later this year. The plan is to do a small retrofit of one greenhouse to produce hemp flower to sell across state lines. The question is will this $3 million experiment work or not?
This is the question I had along with others when I caught up with Glass House’s CEO Kyle Kazan, President Graham Farrar and CFO, Mark Vendetti.
Please note that I recorded this almost two weeks ago, but was delayed in posting this. Since then, the Texas legislature has voted to ban hemp, so there is at least one potential state market that is offline, assuming the governor doesn’t veto this bill.
There still are other state markets out there and demand seems strong. Will the experiment pay off? The upside seems enormous and the downside contained. I really enjoyed this conversation and I hope you enjoy this Q1 review with Glass House management as much as I did:
